So why did I create this self indulgent page exactly? It all started from The Great Crash.
Around mid-late November, there was a series of crashes. You must understand that I forgot the exact date because it was too traumatising a period of time (that or I have bad memory in general).
My memory card crashed.
Then my hard drive.
Then my entire laptop.
I had essentially lost all my data and photos - photos that dated all the way from 2007-8, the period where I got my first DSLR. Somehow, even though I knew that it would be extremely painful to most people, it was only a mild annoyance - I really only wanted my photos from Japan. Thankfully I saved the nice ones on my blog (i knew you were a good idea, travellingunicorning.tumblr.com), but the quality of the photos have suffered slightly. These are also currently the ones in the 'latest' page, so kindly excuse the quality until I get my latest photos up.
I decided to take the crash as a new lease of life - a (hopefully) motivating factor for me to give my photography a new touch. I realised that this was probably a punishment for not doing much with my photos, and that I needed to push myself more. Brighter. Clearer. Better. I needed to build up a carefully crafted portfolio to give myself opportunities, and allow myself to progress after every photograph I take. Also, to keep everything safely in case something crashed again.
Here's my attempt. Enjoy.
